First, my wife and I flew from Phoenix to Chicago and the flight was full. Including middle seats. Guess the media feels it’s best if you believe flights are empty.

Second, the difference between Arizona and Illinois is more than 70 degrees in temperature. More than sunshine are clouds and rain. In Arizona the state is opening and the people are hopeful and almost happy. In Illinois it’s not open and the people are surly and not hopeful. At the peak in AZ maybe half the shoppers in a grocery wore masks, in IL if you go in without one you will be verbally assaulted or worse by the other shoppers and asked to leave by the employees. I guess that’s the difference between 3,500 deaths and 550.

Here are the questions I have been asking family members as we reunite:

1. Will Americans ever go back to crowds. Sporting event, concerts, county fairs, Disney World, etc.?

2. Will those who live in the city flee the city for the burbs?

3. Will those who believe the answer is a vaccine be disappointed? More than one strain, too many not willing to vaccinate(distrust) etc. Like the seasonal flu.

4. Will companies find that productivity from working at home is not lower and just discontinue calling employees back into offices?

5. Will the media ever tell us the total damage of this in the form of suicides, overdoses, homelessness, etc.?

6. Will the businesses, big and small, ever recover?

7. Will we ever learn if this was a good decision?

8 Will this determine the outcome of the November elections?

9. Will none of this matter to the American spirit and we go back to where we were with either a “this was right” or this “will never happen to me again” attitude. The latter meaning I won’t accept this from a government again?

Time will tell, but this is a lot to ponder.
