Quietly, absent the attention of the US media, Trump has Mexico doing the right thing on the hordes of migrants headed to the US through Mexico.
MEXICO CITY — The government of Mexico dispatched two 727 Boeing planes filled with federal police officers to its southern border with Guatemala on Wednesday to intercept a caravan of Central American migrants who are trying to reach the U.S. border.
The Interior and Foreign Relations ministries said in a joint statement that any migrant in the caravan without proper immigration papers would be arrested and “returned to their country of origin.” Those with proper documents or wishing to apply for asylum would be allowed to enter Mexico.
The caravan of migrants set out last week from San Pedro Sula, Honduras, which has long been one of the hemisphere’s most violent cities with a murder rate ranking among the highest in the world.
The group of migrants swelled to an estimated 4,000 people even as President Donald Trump has condemned them and threatened to cut aid to Honduras if government officials do not cooperate in preventing their trip to the U.S.
I find it interesting that news like this is best found on social media. This suggests to me it was part of the NAFTA negotiations and includes Mexicans planning to come across the border. I have long suggested that Mexico is a flea dancing with an elephant and only the elephant’s past presidents have allowed the flea to lead the dance. We now have a President telling the flea he’s calling the tune.
The same President who brought home Pastor Brunson while his predecessor let a Marine reservist Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi sit in a Mexican jail for 214 days because it was too much to ask for him to make a phone call. How long would the Sgt., a veteran of Afghanistan and Iraq have been in that Mexican jail under Trump. No wonder the military despised Obama.
No surprise the main stream media stopped announcing the stock market indexes when Trump started driving them up.
Or, this little tidbit I find very interesting. Again, from social media, not mainstream media, Trump will withdraw from a 144-year old postal treaty which allowed developing countries to pay cheaper rates when shipping packages internationally putting some of the cost on the postal services of wealthier countries, meaning the US and the money losing USPS. This will save the US taxpayer millions of dollars. How many US Presidents watched this become money in the pockets of the Chinese at the expense of the US taxpayer?
Yes, we are winning. Yes, we are making America great again. We have a businessman watching the store and not worrying about the news media, the lobbyists, his pocketbook or the other factors that drive past Presidents. Ask Pocahontas and Stormy Daniels who both had bad weeks this week.
