An Obituary printed in the London Times…..Absolutely Dead Brilliant!!
Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years.
No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:
– Knowing when to come in out of the rain; – Why the early bird gets the worm; – Life isn’t always fair; – And maybe it was my fault.
Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don’t spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).
His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition
Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.
It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.
Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.
Common Sense took a beating when you couldn’t defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.
Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.
Common Sense was preceded in death, -by his parents, Truth and Trust, -by his wife, Discretion, -by his daughter, Responsibility, -and by his son, Reason.
He is survived by his 5 stepbrothers; – I Know My Rights – I Want It Now – Someone Else Is To Blame – I’m A Victim – Pay me for Doing Nothing
Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.
Here’s some common sense on gun control:

Chicago has a serious murder problem. There seem to be many solutions offered. The liberal solution is always the simple one-gun control. Sounds good, it’s a neat sound bite that the media can run with. Obviously, the gentleman in the video(above) disagrees with that solution and makes very good points. The left is going further left, toward Venezuela. Let’s see how gun control is working there.
Venezuela’s gun bill passed in 2013. Once civilians were gunless, the government armed their buddies in the socialist regime. Now we’re here.
In 2015, Venezuela’s homicide rate was the world’s highest, with 27,875 Venezuelans murdered that year.
One effect of gun prohibition has been the increase of lethal violence against law enforcement. Venezuelan law enforcement are targeted specifically for their firearms with 252 officers being killed in 2015.
As has been typical of tyrannies since the dawn of time, arms prohibition has aided in the suppression of dissent. Indeed, the Venezuelan Violent Observatory has reported a notable increase in state violence; lethal extrajudicial force is frequently used against criminals and against political dissidents.
To put this in perspective, the Venezuelan capital’s homicide rate is 122 per 100,000 inhabitants (according to The Hill). The rest of the globe’s average homicide rate? 6. America’s average: 4.
So you could say Venezuela has a bit of a gun problem. More specifically, a society which loves using guns to kill the heck out of each other problem. The part worth noting is how gun control not only failed to fix the murder problem but made it worse. Now citizens are defenseless against predators. Of which the country has many.
Those on the right call for stop and frisk and harsher sentences for illegal guns like New York did to reduce their gun violence issue under Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
Then we get the civil rights issues. Racial profiling, etc. Trust between the police and the citizens. Most days the local news media has a black mother who lost a son to a police shooting calling for justice for her son by convicting the cop for the shooting. The evil media enters the fray and stirs the pot with zero solutions, just more unrest. If the jury had not convicted officer Jason Van Dyke for shooting Laquan McDonald 15 times I hate to think what the media would have whipped up for the city. Chicago has a black police superintendent, Eddie Johnson, and he seems to be a capable man with an impossible task.
My opinion, the gentleman in the video put his finger on the problem. The Crips and the Bloods. It’s a war. Someone needs to bring in the troops and eliminate the gangs. The cops know who they are and where they operate. They run the drug business in Chicago. When Trump mentions getting involved, Mayor Emanuel throws up his sanctuary city he created, and says Trump wants to take that away. See, when Hispanics outnumbered African Americans in Chicago, the Mayor took a special interest in that ethnic group. It certainly makes it easier for the gangs to get drugs from Mexico.
The bottom line. Unless Chicago elects a mayor who operates like President Trump and does what needs to be done and takes all the grief from the media for doing the right thing to solve the problem for the minority in Chicago, the honest, working, taxpaying, law abiding good people, the problem will worsen. Gun control is not the answer.
