More than the requisite 80,000 Texans have signed a seccession petition. This now requires a response from Washington. Gloating over his victory, Obama will make the response short and sweet. “Try it and I’ll send in the troops”.
Here is the language in the petition:
The Texas petition reads:
Given that the state of Texas maintains a balanced budget and is the 15th largest economy in the world, it is practically feasible for Texas to withdraw from the union, and to do so would protect it’s citizens’ standard of living and re-secure their rights and liberties in accordance with the original ideas and beliefs of our founding fathers which are no longer being reflected by the federal government
So, the Great State of Texas is saying, “when you go down Washington, we’re not going down with you. Nor are we going to support California or Illinois or the rest of the fiscally irresponsible states on the way down.
You aren’t protecting our border from Mexico now, so why pay you to do something you don’t do.
Sure, a lot of our people might leave Texas if we drop out and stop some of your programs, but we’re sure California will look after them. We will keep our vested interest in Social Security and Medicare and run it ourselves. There will be no ObamaCare in the new country of Texas.
What’s the downside for Texas and the states with balanced budget to leave the USA? I would love to read your comments on this.
