Obama’s Budget Vote in the House- 414-0

The last time I saw a vote like this it was in the Illinois state house. Blagojevich got a goose egg on a bill he touted as one the Illinois legislators were supporting in large numbers. The large number was zero. This is just before the cuffs went on Blago, and the politicians were already smelling the stench.

This is from the Republican National Committee:

“Do you know what striking out looks like? Look no further than Obama’s irresponsible, out-of-control 2013 budget being voted down 414-0 in the House on Wednesday. And it’s not the first time that has happened. Last May, the President’s 2012 budget received zero votes of support in the Senate.

Even staunch liberals like Nancy Pelosi were unable to hold their nose and support the President’s harmful policies.

What does this tell us?

It tells us that even members from Obama’s own party understand the harm that could come from pushing through his reckless $3.6 trillion budget for next year. It tells us that Obama offers no legitimate direction or guidance to lead us out of this fiscal crisis. It tells us that a real change is needed in November.

We cannot afford four more years of Barack Obama’s irresponsible behavior. Republicans know it. Democrats know it. And now–you know it”

I can’t leave it at that. Perhaps the Democrats are sensing the budget hijinks are over. The public takes the budget and deficit very serious, and Democrats have not, and Obama thinks it’s his own piggy bank, and he doesn’t have to worry about spending. When questioned, just bring up” tax the rich” again. This shows some serious distancing from what is looking like a very lame duck president. Just as the Illinois contingent smelled Blogo way before the public did, the Washington crowd may be getting the same whiff from Obama. Nothing like a whiff for a politician to run to safe ground.
