If you recall, a Chicago suburb was quick to cancel their girl’s high school basketball trip to a tournament in Arizona next year. It was a protest of the racial profiling in the Arizona law. Of course, there is no racial profiling in the Arizona law. It’s a myth perpetrated by Obamamites who are trolling for votes, illegals who want to be legal, and bleeding hearts who have never been exposed to the problems being encountered in Arizona. And, by people from all those camps who used the Major League All Star Game to voice their outrage. They want the game re-scheduled to a different venue instead of Arizona where it is planned for 2011. Fine, boycott baseball if you agree with the Arizona law.
At the same time the local NBC news station in Chicago ran a special on July 13 with a newswoman, Carol Marin going back to her home town, Rolling Meadows, Illinois, a Chicago suburb.
What Carol found was Latino gangs are active in her old neighborhood. She interviewed the county sheriff who said it becoming prevalent in many suburbs in his county. No Chief of Police in any suburb mentioned by the Sheriff would agree to an interview. The sheriff actually mentioned Mexican Mafia Drug Lords were running the gangs. Selling drugs to the teenagers in these suburbs is the main enterprise. But, what comes with that is the typical list of crimes. Violence, murder, burglary, and fear. The two gangs, the Latin Kings and Surenos are too well financed to leave turf for the other gangs in Chicago to follow.
Suburbanites in Arizona have already tasted this blessing that comes from turning a blind eye to illegal aliens. That outrage is central to the genesis of the Arizona law. The residents want the illegals sent home, or at least to Chicago suburbs so folks can gain empathy for their situation.
How long will it take for Rolling Meadows to start demanding a law like the people in Arizona demanded?
By the way, here’s the FBI most wanted list for Chicago.
