What a shock. The welcome mat for manufacturing has been ripped away for years in the U.S. It’s amazing it took a major recession to drive it to this level.

You folks in San Francisco, Manhattan, and Washington(both D.C. and State) who see this country as the Garden Of Eden reincarnate are getting your dreams come true. No smoke, no soot, no jobs.

With taxes, unions, environmental regulations, accounting regulations, OSHA regulations, and all the other help you have provided the people who make goods and sell and export them here in the U.S. it’s just been too much. Manufacturers have chosen to throw in the towel, move to another country, or stick their hand out for a bailout.

Have you noticed in those aforementioned bastions of brilliance that this is starting to impact you? Gee, the idea that we will  be the financial hub of the world seems somewhat tarnished too, doesn’t it? I guess dumping sub prime trash all over the world wasn’t such a good idea either.

Are you finding it a little tough to make ends meet in NY City, Mayor Bloomberg? Microsoft getting a little soft Seattle? Silicon Valley moving out of California due to excessive taxes, San Francisco? Only Washington D.C. is recession proof. As Governor Blagojevich showed us, politics is recession proof. Always something to sell, like a senate seat. Print up another trillion and pay some lobbyists and consultants and get their advice for spending it. Now, that’s a business.

So the Democrats continue to lead the charge to put all manufacturing out of business in the U.S. and they still get the votes from the workers they put on the street. Workers who aren’t trained to other kinds of work. It’s the party of the environmentalists, the unions, and the dreamers.

So, the country that made the goods for the world, now is the country that buys the world’s goods. When everyone here works for the government, where does the money come from to pay the workers if no one makes anything?

MESSAGE TO EVERY MEMBER OF CONGRESS:

When counting the electoral votes, either Congress finds by 1/8/09 that Obama, not being an Article II “natural born citizen”, fails to qualify as President whereupon Biden becomes the full fledged President under 3 USC 19 (free to pick his own VP such as Hillary) or thereafter defers to the Supreme Court to enjoin Obama’s inauguration with Biden becoming only Acting President under the 20th Amendment until a new President is duly determined.

The preferable choice, at least for the Democrats, should seem obvious.
