An actor and former senator on tape can explain it much better than I can in mere words. So, go to http://hotair.com/archives/2008/12/video-fred-on-the-economy/  and hear Fred’s story.

Recent statistics show debt has gone down in only catagories in this country this year. Personal debt and corporate debt. We get it. We are saving to survive these rainy days. If we are smart is the government not smart? Debt and spending in government at all levels is at an all time high. Someone has it right and someone has it wrong.

President Obama has lots of promises to keep and they all require spending and more borrowing. He owes Al Gore a big environmental program. He owes the unions card check. He owes the unions and illegal aliens universal health care.

Recent articles say the redone sub prime mortgages are failing. Gee, no job, no money still doesn’t pay a mortgage regardless of how many times you redo it. Get it yet Barney and Chris? You just have to give the deadbeat a house, not a mortgage and then you have to pay the taxes and utilities on it. In old days it was called the projects and it was vertical and it didn’t work either.

The Fed put interest rates at zero yesterday. Come on deadbeats, borrow more, spend more.

What if Americans stay smart as they have in 2008 and don’t follow the advice of our government? What if we continue to save and don’t spend? Will we be able to finance a new country and a new government when we throw these bums out?

If you go to the video(above) and watch, the conclusion is we are going to be fine, it’s just going to fall heavy on our kids and grand kids. That’s what I’ve been saying for years. We are mortgaging their future with idiocy and it will be hell to pay and we won’t be appreciated for our high living at their expense.

We really need to get organized and dump all the elected fools who ascribe to this idea before it’s too late.

One small example. PETA, another organization with good ideas taken to extremes, closed the last horse rendering plant in DeKalb, IL. Now horse owners who have to decide to feed the horse or feed the kids are turning the horses into the wild. The horses are not accepted by wild herds and they are dying a terrible death. How is this more humane than a blue needle?

It’s the story of America today. Good ideas taken too far become very bad ideas. Home ownership for every American as an entitlement is a perfect example. Let’s extend that into global warming, universal health care, and political correctness, etc. and we have the horse idea spread all over this fine land.

So… today’s whipping boy is PETA. Again, a simple Google News search would have shown you how your instincts for flogging the left have led you astray. Horse slaughter was ended in 2007 after state legislatures and the courts in Illinois and Texas after the practices of these slaughterhouses were publicized…. practices that included conscious dismemberment, open fractures, blinding, battered faces and some horses being left to bleed out and die.

By the way, I don’t have an opinion either way on the raging national issue of horse slaughter or horse abandonment (given that I’ve never given it a thought until just now!), but I do believe that you are overreaching in your zeal to skewer the left at every turn.

I see nothing here about your inability to find data on Omama’s 847 billion dollar proposal to the UN that you suggested was fiction. Spend 2 minutes and research the plight of the hundreds of horses that are being turned out by people who can’t afford them. It’s far worse than the blue needle. I am an animal lover and I believe the PETA people have made a grevious mistake. Posisng naked to get attention, I enjoy. But, letting hundreds of horses stave to death or worse is not entertaining.

Facts always seem to bring out the worst in you liberals.

    Bill

<<Get it yet Barney and Chris?>>

You’ve often told your readers that you lay much of the blame for the mortgage crisis on Barney Frank and Chris Dodd. Might I suggest a little holiday reading for you and your readers…. The Reckoning: White House Philosopy Stoked Mortgage Bonfire (http://www.nytimes.com/2008/12/21/business/21admin.html?em).

There is clearly more than enough bipartisan blame to go around.
