Ringing out 2017. Bringing in 2018. Every time I write or type the digits for a new year I gasp. Wow, been doing this for a lot of years. Let’s recap the good things from the past year that we can relish in the coming year.
Hillary is not president. Now, that’s a great way to start.
ISIS was defeated. Quietly, since the news chose not to trumpet that big plus. It happened quickly and easily when the right people got involved with that simple goal. It’s like they were the varsity when they played against a Obama coached team, but became the JV’s again when Trump and Mad Dog took over. Wouldn’t it be great if they ran your favorite football team–Cleveland?
CNN is fake news. They were caught so often I lost count. But, not alone–the NY Times and Washington Post both issued apologies. You may not agree with Trump’s tweeting but he has done damage to the Fake News outlets, CNN being the worst.
FBI is political. There is more than ample evidence that the top dogs at the FBI were doing everything possible to help Hillary get elected. They have become part of the world of “always support the party of bigger government”. Guess if you work for the government you want more budget, more power, and bigger salaries and pensions. Fire all those top dogs and it will be like the Supreme Court when Trump is done. Fixed for years.
Stock market highs daily. Obama, a man who is the very best at placing blame and accepting undue credit, actually tried to take some credit for this. C’mon man.
Hollywood and Congress were both exposed, pun intended, as hotbeds of sexual perversion. Too much money, too much power, too much free time, too much opportunity, and this is the result. Like most things, it is being overdone. Dirty politics doesn’t disallow paying people to claim false conduct to destroy a candidate.
Rosie is still obese and Chelsea Handler is still the Democrats paragon of morality. Despite being a lush, pothead and nymphomaniac, she speaks for the liberals. Celebrities just can’t help themselves. Movie attendance was down to a 22 year low. The NFL got kneed. Same result. Common sense is absent in all of this. When 63 million Americans voted for Trump and may be offended by mouthy morons using their trade as a microphone, upsetting that many customers should be a consideration, but it isn’t. More empty seats to come in 2018.
The tax bill passed. The GOP are not always as smart as most of us hope they might be, but they are not so ignorant to pass a tax bill that doesn’t help the middle class. The Democrats and the media will try to find small issues that they can expand into their one talking point: “it’s for the rich and big corporations.” But it isn’t , and, as individuals find they are better off and the other guys keep lying about it, there will be consequences.
Business is returning to this country and with it come jobs. The economy growth was over 3% for the first 3 quarters and is projected to top 4% this quarter.
The gender thing has gone quiet, black lives matter as well, cops are not being attacked, God is back in the White House, the media is slowing their coverage of Russia and the election, only the worst of the Democrats are talking impeachment, and most Republicans have gotten on board the Trump train. Those who haven’t give us a good laugh now and then. Jeff Flake, who was 20 points behind his primary opponent before he dropped out of the race, now says he might run for president in 2020. And, most fake news outlets covered that story.
The best for last. Here’s the lineup for the opposition. Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Elizabeth Warren, Corey Booker, and Hillary Clinton. Rah, Rah, Rhee, kick ’em in the knee.
Many great blogs in 2017. I was lucky enough to get your book early. I have read the whole book already. I couldn’t put it down. People like me who have followed your blog from the beginning need to read this book when it comes out. It is a great read and brought back many memories. I have to say this to be the first in 2018. Merry Christmas and God Bless America. Thanks again Bill for writing a great blog.
Thanks Tom.
Where do I get the book Bill?
I will send a link in a week or so.
