The state of North Carolina approved drug testing for food stamp recipients. They conducted a test. The sample size was 159 people who were receiving food stamps. On test day 70 didn’t show.
Of the 89 who were checked, 21 were discovered to have the presence of drugs in their system.
This amounts to almost a quarter of all of those tested to be found with illegal substances in their system. These applicants were asked to repay the state the $55 testing fee.
Here are some facts from the great state of California :
Back to North Carolina. First, let me say this report is dated. It is the first data from the initial test. Interestingly, current data seems unavailable. Is it possible the liberal media is choosing not to publish ongoing data about this program?
Liberals might look at 25% and suggest that the number is not as bad as people make it sound, but they would be forgetting that 70 people did not show up to be tested when they were asked to.
While we don’t have the reasons for their absences, common sense might indicate that they were worried about the results of the tests.
If that was the case, and if they had tested positive, it would have propelled the first round of testing from 25% to well over 50%.
The idea behind the drug testing is pretty simple.
If you are receiving benefits from our government those benefits should not be used to trade for illegal drugs.
Liberals say drug testing of food stamp recipients is illegal and demeaning. I say sitting on your ass and smoking weed all day and having taxpayers support your indolence and your habit is wrong.
Want another reason to vote liberals out and keep the rest of the country from becoming California? This might be one.
Best argument for this is: I had to have a drug test to get my job. You (leeches) should have to take a drug test to get my hard earned money that was taken from me by the government to pay your lazy butts.
We need a finger stick dug test interlock on the machine that accepts EBT cards, that would give us some data. More necessary than blood testing machines for Walgreens.
