There is a lot of talk about political correctness these days. It was even a question in the Republican debate. No one ever says much about class. I’m not talking about Bernie Sanders class war in a sense of Socialism. I’m just talking class. You can’t describe it but you know it when you see it.
Peyton Manning has it Cam Newton doesn’t. Laura Bush has it Michele Obama doesn’t. Jordan Spieth has it Tiger Woods doesn’t . It’s an individual thing. I play a lot of golf and have played with hundreds of people through the years. From Neil Armstrong, the first man on the moon to John Doe, the common blue collar guy who loves golf. I can tell in the first 6 holes whether the person has class. I played in a LPGA member-guest years ago in Toledo, Ohio. It’s a two day event. The first day I played with Catriona Matthew, the Scottish golfer. It was her rookie year on the tour. She has enjoyed a great career with 11 wins including the Women’s British Open. She was in her early 20’s and had amazing class and maturity. The next day we played with Sandra Palmer. She was heading on the downside of her career and wasn’t happy about her game. She wanted to be somewhere else and spent most of the time going off to the side to try to repair her broken game. My host was a sponsor of the event since Kroger had pulled out and they were desperate for a sponsor. At the end of our round he took her aside and told her he was writing a letter to the LPGA about her conduct and suggested she skip the event the next year if he was still the sponsor. No class, Sandra.
You see it in really tough situations. Those with class show composure, others go viral. It used to be the only version of what we now call political correctness.
Let me give you the latest example of no class:
President Obama:
The classless, tacky, narcissistic antagonist uses a televised tribute to an esteemed deceased Supreme Court Justice to declare war on Republicans should they deprive him of a nomination.

Well said. It doesn’t matter how much money you have, class is the ultimate tell.
I have never (and will never) associate this POTUS (Obama) with the word class. It has no meaning for him whatsoever.
What a jerk.
