Growing older has few advantages. But, if your memory is still somewhat intact and you can keep up with technology, you can reconstruct what you think you remember.

I can remember politicians, scientists, and the mainstream media pounding me about climate change in the 1970’s. Seems  I must be in the minority, since few of my peers who endorse today’s version of climate change want to remember the one from that era.

How can something this diametrically opposite occur in just over 30 years?

If one can equate climate change to religion, it’s easy. First you need disciples. People who want to be believers. Next, you need preachers. Those who can benefit from selling the religion. Those include scientists, who get huge grants for working on the issue. Politicians soon follow since there is power involved. Government can take greater control. The key is the money involved. Billions, if not trillions, have been collected and spent on cap-and-trade(Europe), alternative energy support(Solyndra), and to increase gasoline mileage in autos, etc. But, the biggest expenditure is from consumers and more is yet to come. We don’t try to secure hydrocarbons on Federal lands, we close coal plants, we do everything we can to make cheap energy go away. All for the greater good of the true God, the planet. After all, who wants to contribute to the destruction of the planet? But, who will destroy the future economy of our country for their children? You, of course. It’s very unpopular in most circles to be on the other side of climate change. But, no one cares about the now $17.6 trillion national debt.

Finally, you need a brain-dead media to fan the flames. Every day, month in and month out , twist any story into a climate change event. And to ignore what’s happening in the Southern Hemisphere where the Antarctic ice cap just reached record depth.  All a journalist needs is to read a teleprompter, just like a president. You are completely brainwashed by now.

Just as many of us were in this era. Take a minute and read through the list below. Who was touting this baloney? And, how long did it last? The Washington Post kicked it off in 1970.  The Christian Scientist Monitor was still pushing it in 1979. A decade of global freezing brought to you by top scientists around the world, key politicians, and so-called mainstream media.

Somehow, it just petered out like most fads.
