“During the 1970s the media promoted global cooling alarmism with dire threats of a new ice age. Extreme weather events were hyped as signs of the coming apocalypse and man-made pollution was blamed as the cause.

Thank you Anthony for taking me back to what I clearly remembered from those glorious 70’s.

You see, I remember the global freezing scare.

The same groups were as zealous about freezing that now worship warming.

First, the scientists, who saw this as a big windfall. They got government grants, speaking engagements, wealth and prestigue. The money poured in in streams.

Then the media. The media loved global freezing. They blamed every act of nature on the scientific proof that the planet was getting colder. Hollywood types jumped on this.

Next were the politicians. Jimmy Carter, who I’m sure  is now big on global warming, was all over this issue. The environmental movement picked up steam on the climate issue.

But, the biggest proponents were, like they are today, the people who replace God with saving the planet. Neither could be proved by science, but maybe, just maybe, if they did something worthwhile to save the planet, God would forgive them for not being true belivers. after all, we need to believe in somehing good. 

Personally, I will stick with God, and those of you who want to go down this same road again, can stick with Al Gore.
