How’s that Gay Marriage announcement working out for your Mr. President?

The latest Rasmussen Poll show Romney leading by 50-42%. This poll does pick up the tail end of the people who got the news on the presidents position on gay marriage.

It is, of course, way too early to get cocky. But Republicans have to be happy with the way current polling is going. In this morning’s tracking poll at Rasmussen Reports,

Romney’s surge is due to the public’s perception of Obama far more than to anything Romney is doing. Currently, Rasmussen finds that only 44% of likely voters approve of Obama’s performance, while 55% disapprove. And Obama is at his lowest point in six months in Rasmussen’s Approval Index, the difference between the number of voters who strongly approve of his performance and those who strongly disapprove:

Losing 22% in your approval rating is not good news. It’s a sign the public is tired of the George Clooney Party president. Hobnobbing with the rich and famous while attacking the rich and famous looks hypocritical. Never working, always campaigning, never accomplishing anything, always blaming, never offering solutions, always focused on issues like gay marriage, it’s not adding up to leadership.
