What prompted President Obama to pick a fight with Catholics? What can he possibly gain from what he did?
He signed off on a Health and Human Services ruling that says that under ObamaCare, Catholic institutions, including charities, hospitals, and schools will be required by law to provide and pay for insurance coverage that includes contraceptives, abortion inducing drugs and sterilization procedures. If they do not they will face fines in the millions of dollars. Or, they can just close. Which some are already suggesting they will do.
Now we can add the Catholic vote to the Jewish vote Obama has given up. His positions on Israel have cost him dearly with Jews in America. Remember the Anthony Wiener replacement vote where a Republican replaced Wiener, in a democratic, Jewish district, for the first time since Franklin Roosevelt was president?
Add to that a little-known statistic, for the first time in 22 years more women voters chose Republican candidates(49%) over Democrat candidates(48%) in the 2010 mid term elections. In 2008 women favored Obama by a 56%-43% margin.
Then you have Wall Street. Obama conned the Wall Street crowd into believing he was on their team in the 2008 campaign. Now they know him for what he really is, a man who will say anything and do what he chooses. Cross their contributions off for this campaign.
It’s starting to pile up on this president. You can’t wipe your feet on people and expect them to support you. Even if the mirror every day tells you the seas will part for you. Next time you are in Hawaii stroll down to the beach and give it a shot.
