President Obama has brought a new arrogance to the presidency of the United States. As his health care reform struggles, it has become apparent that he expects the American people to buy anything he is selling.

The uproar about health care reform has made several things crystal clear to many Americans. First, President Obama has no interest in what kind of health care reform he gets, just get one done. He can check that off his list. If pressed, he can’t answer any questions about any of the details in any of the screwed up bills floundering in congress. He will sign any of them.

If any American disagrees with any form of health care reform, they will be demonized. He once again promised there will be a health care reform bill passed before the end of the year. Wanna bet?

As anger in the majority of America festers over the way this has been handled, the chances of him fulfilling this promise grows dimmer and dimmer.

The Democrats who must stand for reelection in 2010 are getting the message the president is missing. They can’t answer questions about the bills either. That, more than anything else, is getting voters mad.

Crashing the Stimulus Bill through, trying to crash the cap and tax bill through, and spending like a maniac has cost this president dearly.

Using Chicago political tactics by calling ordinary Americans nut cases, or ignoring them, or worse yet, tying them to some RNC conspiracy, will backfire.

Having your Director of New Media put out a blog that says”there is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there” both on the web and floating around in chain emails”. Continuing, “since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov.” This is an assault on our first amendment right to free speech. It is designed to stifle public debate about health care issues. This is really scary stuff.

This defeat will not set well with this arrogant president. We will see his true nature. He will compound the big mistakes of the past 30 days and the mask will fall. Pursuing his belief that he can dictate what everyday Americans must do will result in him losing his clout for the next three years of his presidency. Americans want to respect their president but they expect their president to respect them in turn.

Insulting people who disagree with him is bad politics. It works in Chicago, but not in America. Your arrogance will be your downfall. The ignorant congressmen who hold town hall meetings without reading the bills and being able to answer questions deserve criticism. Not one congressman, Senator, or the President can say they support the bills in their present state. Yet, they want us to agree in concept and trust them. Americans don’t trust any of you anymore. We don’t support a lot of your plans to change this country. You are getting an earful at these meetings reflective of the 13% approval rating you get when polled. A lot of you can expect not to be reelected next year.

Turning the White House dogs on free speech will not help. Soon, your president’s approval rating will be a low as yours or lower.
