High noon at the OK Corral. “It’s blow’in in the wind”. Bush did to Obama what Blagojevich did to Obama. Bush put him in the trick bag. Can’t vote present on this one. Blagojevich gave President Obama his first slap down by naming Roland Burris to replace Obama in the senate. Obama said, “ain’t gonna happen”. It did happen.
Now on the way out the door, Bush approved the Cape Wind Project. The first offshore wind farm. This should make all environmentalists salivate. Finally, we are going to get 130 offshore towers that will produce 75% of the power for the state and reduce 734,000 tons of carbon emission every year. Hey, this is the future. Who can be against this?
After all, the wind and solar are going to power the electric cars of the future. Wind is now 1% and it would probably only take $4-5 trillion of deficits to take it to 25% but that’s what we are going to do. That, of course, will still double your electric bill. That’s not part of that $4-5 trillion. I’m against it, but no self-respecting hard core environmentalist who cares not about the economy or costs could fight this. How could they? Who would?
The entire Kennedy clan, that’s who. Including Robert Kennedy Jr. He’s the Time environmental guy of the year. The Kennedy with the voice that sounds like whining through gravel. The guy who distributes Hugo Chavez’s free heating oil. How can the Kennedy’s be against something that is exactly what they have been saying America needs for years?
Is it because of the cost? The project will need significant government subsidies and will produce power that will cost double the present power cost? Of course not, there has never been a Kennedy who has objected to government subsidies or wallet pain to taxpayers for the good of the planet. No, they have tried to sabotage this for months, because it will result in some specks in the horizon off the shore of the Kennedy Compound. Compound is liberal for castle. Goes back to the Camelot days, which were dumped forever with Caroline’s try at the senate. The former CEO of my corporation, another loser, named his house Greywalls. Anyone who has a compound or a house named Greywalls needs to move to Europe.
Despite every trick in the book by the Kennedy clan, their fixers—people who can even fix vehicular homicide offenses, their cronies, and their political clout, it’s now on Obama’s desk to sign.
Will he sign it or will he vote present again? Stay tuned.
