My Dad’s generation. They fought the Great Depression and survived the Big War and they were tough. Oh, so tough, mentally and physically. The world knew not to mess with this bunch. They built things, grew things, and raised kids that could do the same. My generation. They pushed us to go off to college. Most of us helped pay for that college by working summers and at school. College was a reasonable price because the government was not subsidizing colleges, students, and passing out free loans. Free, until you have to pay them back. If you ever intend to do so.
My generation took those degrees and went to work. Many of us working for the same companies our entire career. We raised our kids and sent them off to college. Life got easier for every successive generation. And, we got softer. Our kids are raising this:
The world knows we are soft and getting softer. We can thank this:

The guy in the Mom jeans on his little bike with the bell. Think about it this way:
You wonder why folks like me favor Trump? The rest of the trash pile of candidates are all like the guy in the Mom jeans. Lawyers and career politicians who have never lived in the real world. That’s the real world above. That old man staring into the mirror to find the soldier who hit the shore on DDay. That Viet Nam vet looking at the gravestones of his fellow soldiers. Then came the guy who rode his little bike around Chicago, a dying city in a dying state in a dying country. One more reminder:
Yes, I am right where you are on this. The present generation is being raised to think that the world owes them a living. That their feelings are so important that they cannot be hurt. Safe spaces deluxe.
I am sad because part of living life to its fullest is experiencing defeat and getting back up. It’s accepting the things that cannot be changed, and working on things that can be changed. It’s doing what makes you happy and not apologizing for it to anyone.
It’s not whining at every single slight.
The world is not a SAFE SPACE.
Just a bunch of pajama boys. How boring.

General George S. Patton cringed at his behavior being called “despicable”. I get the impression our current president considers that assessment of his presidency a badge of courage! I am ever thankful that my parents, members of that greatest generation, didn’t live to see the country we’ve become.
I got a text from a friend whose Dad was a WWII Admiral. He said Dad must be spinning in his grave. I’m sure mine is as well.

Every Four years the Republicans come out with a “Big Conservative Agenda” – then “Nothing” – It will happen again. I am Tired of Electing Lawyers and Do Nothing Politicians to Bargain / Give our Country Away.
My Dad was a Korean Veteran – He and his children (Me)- we were raised to Work Hard, Play Hard, To think and Show Respect to Others and our Elders.
I am behind Trump all the way – I have been since 2008 – I just hope Americans will start raising their children to “Have Better Work Ethics” and not run from hard work in Factories or the Trades.
